About Us

What is the ByteVine ?

Welcome to The ByteVine ! The ByteVine was created in Mid-2009 ; uniquely focused on providing up-to-date news on web technology and startups, whilst also providing regular insights into the issues surrounding the field, and its affect on society as seen by us – the editors.

With the addition of our second Editor, Adam Parton, however, we decided to expand this focus to also include regular commentary on the latest gadgets as well. This slightly broadened focus has allowed us to appeal to a wider audience, whilst bringing you even more great geek news, all under one roof!

Later on in the year we will be bringing you great prizes, in-depth reviews and, hopfefully, interesting interviews … please consider subscribing to get all of this the moment it hits the press (so to speak). Cheers!

About the Editors

Below are a short collection of Bios from ‘the Byte Vine’ team.

Hugo Firth | Founder and Editor

Hugo Firth

My twitter profile lists me as a

“Mildly disinteresting computer science student and technology enthusiast… oh and blogger to various degrees of failure.”

Fairly accurate (I would know … I wrote it), but with my founding of The Byte Vine comes a firm resolution to rectify the latter – hopefully using my enthusiasm to provide you all with something one notch above “Mildly disintertesting”. You should know: I offer no guarantees.

Adam Parton | Editor

Adam PartonA self-styled blogger, I enjoy all aspects of technology and new media, from music (huge passion) to gaming. I write over at adam-parton.com, which got me into joining The Byte Vine to be an active and very friendly editor. In the interests of full disclosure I should say that I’m a bit of a Mac fanboy – I mean who isn’t these days ? =P

For gaming I use an Xbox 360 & DS Lite, always looking for that fun thrill. You can mostly find me on Xbox Live – see you there!
