A welcome post, and free Beer!

Hello, Bonjour, Hola, Hallo, Ciao, Hej, Sawubona ….. and I’m out!

(OK – so google translate might have helped me out a little!).

So this is my first post here at the ByteVine and, so far, it’s not going well. Let me explain: I’ve got fairly big plans for this blog, and a number of goals to achieve from the get go. Publishing more than 5 articles a week, for instance, or getting an average of 10 comments per post we make, within 3 months.

These goals are what most people would write about in their welcome post, but there’s a problem. These are my goals – and you almost certainly (if you have any sense) just don’t care.

SO, because I want to grab your attention, I thought I would talk about two things almost everyone cares about:

Free Stuff and Beer

Trust me when I say there are going to be literally hundreds of good reasons  to stick around here at thebytevine.com, but few are so compelling as our guarantee that after June 21st  we will never post less than 3 articles a week (not as prolific as lifehacker :p … but its a start).

If that isn’t enough for you, we will be:

• Handing out as many cool beta invites as we can get our hands on.
• Interviewing industry leaders about the secrets of their success.
• Holding the odd competition ….where we hope to give out insane prizes,  just because we can!

To be honest though, some of these things can be found at some other cool blogs. I’m pretty sure the ByteVine is the ONLY BLOG IN THE WORLD though, that will bribe you with beer as well!

To claim your Pint of choice you just have to do one of the following:

1. Be the 5th person to comment on this post.
2. Be the first person to list all the languages used to say Hello at the beginning – 2 Pints
3. Be the 20th person to comment on this post (it pays to be optimistic I find ) – 2 pints
